Yesterday I was in traffic for 7 hours and
there was nothing I could do about it but sit through it. I couldn’t
faith myself out or blame myself for it — it was completely out of my
hands. The only thing I could control was my attitude •in• it.
⠀⠀
I was tempted to snap and become irritable at several points (especially when we were in one spot for what feels like 2+ hours!) but that would only have made the journey more unbearable - it definitely wouldn’t have gotten me out of it faster.
⠀⠀
What traffic are you in? What hold-up are you experiencing in your life? Sometimes the delay is not your fault and there’s nothing you can do to make yourself move faster ahead — but you •can• master your emotions and manage your attitude as you go through it. Keep praying; God hears. But it takes time to clear the fallen tankers and reroute the against-traffic driving that blocked the road and caused a backlog because of the impatience of the others who went before you.
Are you getting this?
⠀⠀
Impatience causes accidents that take much longer to clear. (STOP RUSHING)
Patience creates character to wait for God to clear those delays. (GOD IS WORKING ON IT. WAIT!)
A bad habit in the waiting period will only make the waiting unbearable. (CHECK YOUR ATTITUDE BRO. WATCH WHAT YOU’RE SAYING IN THIS SEASON, SIS.)
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Shout out to my brother who was actually drivingggg 😓👏🏽🙌🏽 he stayed in good spirits THROUGHOUT. As in, he didn’t snap once 🤯
THAT is how to wait when life tries you: with a God Attitude.
Selah.
