Dean and Dan Caten = Dsquared2 debuted their Men's collection in 1994 and became relevant to women in 2003 when they decided to create a women's ready to wear line.
Their inspiration tends to be anything from homeless squalor to opulent equestrian Britain. They are also infamous for their super low rise jeans i.e. practically butt crack jeans on both men and women. I find them really mysterious and intriguing - they are identical twins - who is the creative one and who whips up strategy? Or do they both design? Or are they fashions milli vanilli? Bottom line I do not believe they are both designers. Nonetheless, their clothes are edgy, macabre and look great.
Their fall 2009 collection is a mix of formal and casual suits which is nothing new in the world of fashion but there were some effeminate influences such as SEQUINS, shrunken waistcoats and tighter, form fitting trousers. They are:
