I've always had a problem with black babes in blonde weaves.
but beyoncé, she was sneaky - slowly eased us into the colour. first it was brown, then it was honey brown, and then it was light brown... and so when it got blonde we noticed, but it wasn't like, a shocking transition.
but people, if you absolutely have to go blonde, you know you have to do it right! If you need to put that weave in, you might wanna take care of the roots. hence this post.
I don't get how Bé coulda walked out of her stylist's home looking like this. To put it rather harshly, Bé at the NAACP awards was sporting a skanky weave and I don't care how much it cost.
now, I understand that some of you might be unable to appreciate the magnitude of the situation because you're blinded by adoration for the diva/hustler, and for that very reason I have put together this:
spot the difference.
Bé needs a visit to the salon like she needs to stop over singing Etta James' songs ASAP.
she should take a cue from one of the very few other black females who manage to pull off the infamous yellow infusions, Eve:
nNow doesn't that look soo much better?

Truth be told, eve's roots are showing too. I think Eve looks worse because she's trying too hard to be blonde...
ReplyDeleteI don't think there's anything wrong with black people going blonde...honey, that's what dyes are for. Sometimes even white people with blond hair have dark roots and sometimes on purpose...it's an effect. Now you can say you don't like the effect, but not that black people can't have blonde hair
how is eve trying too hard to be blonde? cuz hers is *gasp* shorter?
ReplyDeletep.s. nowhere here did i say black people can't do anything. hey, barack is in the white house after all :)
what i did say was, 'if you absolutely have to go blonde, you know you have to do it right!'
