So a significant amount of us watched the O.C. Remember Marissa? Her real name - Mischa Barton, was the reason the series folded. As soon as she left the series tanked in ratings and only had 4 seasons. She has remained in our consciousness due to her lindsay lohanesque lifestyle. I think the fashion world is at odds on whether to love her style or hate it. Anyway, she has decided to jump on the celebrity bandwagon to design a line of handbags exclusively for asos.com.
Verdict: Not bad
They are decently priced, the designs are alright nothing that we haven't seen before and nothing we will not see again. I am not really into bags for their aesthetic purpose as I am for the functional purpose which is to put your s**t in. But iHeart and other pals are trying to beat that out of me.
This is the 'Alana' shoulder bag with a pleated scoop top detail. I think it is a subtle bag but for some reason I wish it was bigger.
This is called the 'Lyla' it is definitely a large bag in which you can fit the kitchen sink. I am not a fan of the colour. I think white is a bit impractical for things that you put on the ground. The intricate gold detail gives the bag a classy touch.
The 'Olivia' bag. Covered in detailed embroidery, this one looks homemade but in a really bad way. The material used for the bag is the first and primary mistake, it looks like they ripped it off a vintage 18th century sofa. It also looks like the kind of bag that if it is near a droplet of water it will dissolve. Sorry but the Olivia bag makes me want to regurgitate.
This 'Ophelia' tote. My issue with tote's is that if it is not real leather, snakeskin or animal hide of some sort it looks kind of cheap This lloks like it is made from vinyl which could be a little tacky. However I quite like the pocket charm detail.
This bag doesn't have a name it is just your standard leather clutch. The chain strap is removable. J'adore this I think it is really simple but really pretty. It is only 20 quid so it is quite the steal
This is called the Marissa. I know, How Original? "Marissa" is the leather clutch's little sister, this is a purse/wallet.
This gold leather bow clutch is also nameless. I love the shape and style but I do detest the colour with a passion. It makes it look like something from a 10 year old's barbie gift set.
This is a large patent tote. Nameless as well. Like the 'Ophelia' it is not animal hide it looks bad, especially since this is white it will be more obvious.
The 'Ophelia Charm' bowling bag. I really like the shape and the colour, if they used the right material it would have been perfect.
I left the best for last. This is her zebra print evening bag, it comes with a chain strap. It is really petite but rather striking.
In my humble but awesome opinion it is a good first effort.
