I wore this gorge @maisondemorad dress on today’s episode of the Heart of the Matter @hotmtv. Did you catch it? What did you think of Banky’s passionate approach? (Please let me know!)
The way I see it is this: in these elections, we already know all the negative things. “They” rig, ehn we’ve heard that. “They” already know who is coming in. Okay thanks.
BUT:
How will YOU vote?
What will YOUR position be?
Rather than fold your arms or continue these heart wrenchingly cynical and pessimistic conversations, what will you DO? All talk, allllll talk. But what will your ACTIONS be?
My suggestion: Vote the person you BELIEVE should be elected. Let the results of these elections show the dissatisfaction of the people and the heart of the people. Let the numbers show that so-and-so million people were tired of the present government. Let the numbers show that, these elite that we keep pointing fingers at (aka, ourselves🤦🏽♀️) actually TRIED.
Stand behind the person you would like to see in office and reduce the margin of rigging as much as humanly possible.
⠀
Because all the talk - whether you say nothing is possible, or you say it’s possible - in the end o, your action (YOUR VOTE) should reflect the change you want to see.
(Note that not voting = you’re happy with how things are.)
⠀
Imagine a Nigeria where the people actually voted what they wanted.
I’m voting Fela Durotoye for President because I believe he has the right intentions for the country.
Voting Banky in for the same reason.
Because as inexperienced as you may think they are, it’s the “experienced” ones who have actually run this country to the ground.
Press your hand wisely.
And carefully.
