We don’t get to sit back and return to the status quo, Masters of the Art of Complaining, until the next elections come around.
⠀
There will be new challenges in this time:
New businesses. New marriages. New children = new bills. New education crises. A desperate need for media intervention. Moral values. What world will we raise our children in?
⠀
It’s in our hands.
Buhari will be 80 in 2023.
He will rest.
Atiku may run again.
More generals may decide to spring up, since we like voting them in so much.
We can’t blame them - we can only stand up.
Take responsibility.
Do our actual God-given BEST.
⠀
Tech people? Invent the next electoral app system and start testing it out on smaller-scale projects.
Teachers? TEACH, PLEASE! Don’t despise teaching; it’s so essential. There’s no learning without teaching. No progress, no development.
Doctors? Don’t run away. Help us find cures to the simplest illnesses that are killing us.
Lawyers - I don’t know what you guys do just don’t spend the next 4 years arguing ππ
Architects/ civil engineers - Build. You have the solution to the housing crises. Stop imagining the perfect future that’ll make it easy for you to do it - fight through these challenges and start solving the problems.
Electrical engineers(?)- fix electricity. You keep talking about alternatives, create these prototypes let’s test them out, already.
Filmmakers: create! On a HUNDRED! No more mediocrity. Practice, perfect, pioneer!
Motivation speakers- motivate! Our morale is down. We need y’all, too ππ½
⠀
The environment isn’t encouraging, so let’s CHANGE THE ENVIRONMENT.
You can leave, but that’s like reaping the fruits of someone else’s sacrifice and not being willing to sacrifice to create your own.
⠀
Complaining has got us absolutely nowhere. It’s time to strategise and act.
These four years?
Let’s make them count. (And count, and count, and count...)
